Elle’s does not offer Notary Public.  A Commissioner for Oaths may be called to give evidence.  Do I need a Commissioner or a Notary Public?

Servicing Lethbridge and Vicinity

  • If you require Affidavits, Affirmations, Statutory Declarations and other Sworn Statements document required and your document is being used within and for Alberta you require a Commissioner for Oaths.

  • It is your obligation to provide us with the form you wish to be commissioned or witnessed by our Commissioner for Oaths.

  • We do not provide legal advice; it is your responsibility to ensure that you know the required documents accepted for your particular needs.

  • If your document is being used outside Alberta you require a Notary Public.

  • If the document needs to be certified as a true copy you require a Notary Public.

 

Commissioning and Witnessing

 
When a Person Does Not Speak English

The person making the affidavit or statutory declaration should be accompanied by a competent interpreter.  

 

When a Person is Hearing Impaired

An interpreter is not required if the person making the affidavit or statutory declaration has a hearing impairment but is capable of reading, read the declaration  or affidavit, and appeared to perfectly understand it, and signed their name.

We provide service within 150 kilometers of  Lethbridge, Alberta to overcome mobility barriers for all ages at the comfort of your home by appointment.

 

No ID

If your ID is lost, stolen, or destroyed contact the appropriate agency of your needs to acquire an approved statutory declaration form.  We can help you with your designated representative who have known you for at least one year or more; depending on the criteria of the sought agencies' requirement; to sign in front of our dedicated Commissioner for Oaths.

Special Needs

Home Service or preferred establishment is offered by appointment within 150 kilometers of Lethbridge to administer commissioning and witnessing affidavits, affirmations, Statutory declarations and sworn statements.​

We offer a 15% discount on regular priced administering for oaths and cannot be combined with other services.  Proof of eligibility is required.
